Blair Kaplan Venables:

Hey, hey, welcome back to another episode of dissecting success. It's me Blair Kaplan Venables, and I'm here with the amazing, the talented and fabulous Teresa Lambert. And you know, we were just jamming on what should we talk about to you, and I'm recording this while live in Cabo, Mexico. And I've been here for an event, I don't even know what to call it. Like, it's not a conference. It's not a retreat, kind of like a mastermind. But I decided, You know what, I'm going to be in Cabo, I need to do some healing, I'm gonna extend my trip and reflect and integrate and do some work. And Holy smokes, what a week, I have had. And I really want to talk about, and Theresa and I both want to talk about the concept of like referrals and following your gut. You know, there is no real manual to life, or to business or to like how to do what you want to do. And something that's really important to me is to be different than the other communication experts out there. It's to do personal and professional development all the time and take my lessons learned in life and apply them to my business and apply them to my growth. And I'm on this spiritual awakening. And I found myself with some of the most amazing, inspirational humans that I've ever come across this past week from all over the world. And I'm really glad I asked the right questions that landed me here.

Theresa Lambert:

I love that Blair. And I think this is such a cool topic, because our intuition, those hunches the way that make us, like the things that make us make a decision that is not led from the head, often, or I have found to be pretty much always the most powerful choices that lead to the most incredible experiences. So for you to make this decision to go on this retreat, you know, not really, with a big expectation of what it's going to be or you know, you're like, I'm going and I'm going because I believe this will help me on my path to healing. And you had this incredible experience, and I cannot wait to hear more. And I just think that that is so incredible. But most people, what I have found very often is that we're so led by our head and logic, and logic is important. I don't want to undermine logic and thinking, you know, it's important, but when we start to understand the power of that intuition piece, the power of our like sacral hunches and allow them to lead us. It's like knowing without knowing why, you know, and instead of questioning why, you know, you're just like, Okay, I know I meant to do this, so I'm gonna do it.

Blair Kaplan Venables:

Yes, yes. Oh my gosh. Okay. So in my first book, pulsing through my veins, were unreal stories from an entrepreneur, I talk about my intuition. And anytime that I've like gone against what my gut says it's always backfired. And I really learned to follow my gut, in life and to the fridge. Because you know, I love a good snack. But it's really interesting because the more I'm on the spiritual awakening path, the more in tune I am with my intuition. Should I do this? Should I not do this? And so how I ended up here in Mexico, I mean, like, I can go down like I can start pulling the thread and it unravels a huge adventure but I have this business coach who I met through my publicity, partnerships and promotions coaching program I'm a part of and I I said to him, you know, I've been in business for almost 14 years. I want to go meet other cool entrepreneurs, I want to go meet other out of box thinkers, I'm I'm done handing out business cards, I want to meet people who are playing big, who are not thinking like the rest of society. And he's like, You should just check out baby bathwater. And it's called the baby bathwater Institute. So I googled it. I'm like, You know what I'm gonna apply. I didn't I applied how to call a, you know, got accepted and registered. And so when I came, you know, a lot of people have been coming to events before and there's probably I think, 150 of us there from all over the world at every walk of life, every type of Washington every walk of life, but like, we're all entrepreneurs in our own rights, musicians, artists, like scientists, and beyond. And everyone's like, Oh, who here with I'm like, I'm alone. Like, they're your loan. I'm like, yeah, like, I actually ended up knowing someone through the dovetail community. Alexis, she was there too. And I found out a week before I went, she was going, and she lives in Ontario, but I was like, I'm just gonna rock up alone. Like, what do I have to lose? If they're vetted, They vetted me, they've everyone in this community, everyone, there is a change maker, and, you know, people making a difference in this world. I'm going to go, and I'm just going to make some cool friends. And the first night I was there, someone asked me, What's your intention over the next couple days, and it's a no pitch event, like you're not there to pitch your business or handle business cards. And I was like, honestly, I'm not even here to grow my business. I'm here to like, make some new friends. Like I'm here to make people make relationships with people who are going to inspire me. And you know, my intuition said, Blair, you have nothing to lose. There's I was not nervous about showing up in another country by myself. I was, like, super pumped. I mean, also with Canada being like, you know, in the COVID bubble for a couple years, it's like, I was just kind of like a wild animal caged up, getting out into the wild for free. I was like, let me out of here, I need to go. schmooze because I am fueled by the schmooze, you know, and I love just interesting people. And this was like the get the gathering of the minds. And, you know, it's so interesting, because I had a time we saw who we were going to be who was going to be there, and I started reading profiles that well, some of these people are really cool. And then I just stopped and I was just like, You know what, whoever I meant to meet, I'm going to meet. And there was a couple of people who I didn't like, in my mind. And like, if I come across some great like, I never looked for anyone, like if I was on a boat, right, like at the beach, or at a meal at a table like I met who I met. And this one person I really wanted to meet, who I'm not really prepared to like, share just yet. But the last morning, I was like, Oh, I never got to meet them. And they ended up sitting randomly beside me at breakfast. And the conversation potentially could have like this could change the trajectory of my business and my life. And I think when you follow your gut, and you're open to possibilities, and you don't put those restrictions or parameters around how you're showing up, but you show up authentically, you're inviting these experiences into your life.

Theresa Lambert:

100% 100%. And my intuition is telling me that you going on this trip Solo was exactly what you needed to because I mean, I'm a big, like, honestly, I love solo travel. And I've done it many times. And I've been believe it's really good for the soul. And you're also more open to meet new people, because you're taking yourself out of the comfort zone of having somebody that you know, which means that you're like going into it open, open to receive, right, even though you're like maybe a little bit on the edge and what you just said to think that there was forces at play that are bigger, and if you've been listening to this podcast for a while, or if you if you follow me, you know that I'm into the woowoo. But I truly believe that there's forces that are bigger than the people that are meant to come into our life are going to come into our life in one way or another. So you could be you know, with 150 people, you could be with 1000 people somewhere and meet that one person that has an incredible impact. And why is that? Right? Why is that and I believe the reason for that is because we're all energetically connected. And if you are meant to be connected with a person, in one way or another, you will meet them even in a crowd of people. Like it's serendipitous, but it happens for a reason. So I love that you ended up meeting them the last day, and that it was almost like when you've surrendered, you know, you've surrendered and you're like, oh, yeah, you know, that's it, like, you know, I'm not going to meet them and boom, here you are sitting right next to them having this conversation and, you know, I can't wait to hear what that is all about. Hopefully offline. You're going to spill the beans,

Blair Kaplan Venables:

but I'll give you the beans Yeah, I

Theresa Lambert:

love that. But I really think for everybody listening that that's so important and you've been referring it to like gut intuition and I almost one you want to invite everyone like if you Don't get this gut feeling. Just know that we all have access to this intuitive center, we all have access to intuition. It's not just like, sometimes it feels like it's our gut. And it's become the same, like I make decisions from my gut. But I feel like it's so much deeper than not like, I feel like intuition. It's like, basically like anything. I feel like your intuitive centers, like if you really think about it, like this is obviously just my definition. So I have no physical proof of this whatsoever. But I believe that your intuition is anything that happens between like your heart, and your sacral chi, so like, the whole, like center, space, and everything that's going on. Between that I believe that this is where your, your organs, intuitively, intuitively, and energetically connect. So even if you're like, I never get this gut feeling, you know, you might feel it in the back of your heart. Like, let yourself just feel when hunches come in, when when a message comes in, where do you feel it between, like, you know, your heart and your sacral?

Blair Kaplan Venables:

I love that. And it doesn't have to be like, big things or little things, right? Like sometimes I'm trying to make a decision. And I just know 100% I just know, you know, and like, I think once your start, once you're aware of it, I mean, there's tons of resources online on like, how to really learn to like, follow your intuition and to feel it. Once I really understood what it was. And now I'm able to tap into it. But like it helps with absolutely everything. It tells me it gives me guidance on things I shouldn't do, what doesn't feel good things that I shouldn't do. And I know that like if there's something I really want to do, and I'm passionate about it, I'm pulled to do it, I want to do it. And if I don't want to do it, but I feel like I my head says you should do it. But my gut says no. And I do it anyways, that I'm coming up a bunch of against roadblocks and like excuses and not wanting to do something. And that just is what it, you know, shows up for for me. But it's been really cool, because as soon as I learned to follow my intuition, my life has just taken some very interesting terms. And it's it's super cool.

Theresa Lambert:

Yeah, totally. I agree with you. I mean, I wouldn't have ended up in Costa Rica last year, if I wouldn't have just listened to that hunch. Like, I also wouldn't have, like, backpacking on my own for South America. And ending up in Canada. That was a intuitive hit that I had. I was like, I'm gonna go travel around the world. And, you know, when I was 16, actually, I said that I was going to live in Canada. And my mom said to me, what, why Canada? And I said, I don't know. I just know. She's like, what's in Canada was like, I don't know,

Blair Kaplan Venables:

where Blair's in Canada future Blair. Yeah.

Theresa Lambert:

But here I am, right. Like, nearly, you know, like, that was like now like, Oh, my God, over 20 years later, since I made that statement, you know, recently became a Canadian citizen. And, like, Here I am, like, I'm going on to the cap that, like the year like, is getting close, where I have lived the same amount of time in Canada than I did growing up in Germany, which is crazy. But it's these, it's these intuitive hits, right? It's the intuition that's like, No, I'm meant to be somewhere and you go, it's the I meant to, to, you know, like, even in business, like bring this back to business for a second, I find that like, I make so many decisions this way. Like I'm about to deliver an incredible training the way to 100k all week, this week, April 19, to 24th. And I feel like this episode may air next week, but maybe the week after. So I don't know when you're listening to this. But the yesterday or two days ago, I was just sitting and I was meditating. And I was out and about. And then I had this like, intuitive, like a motional length, feeling hunch come in. And I was like, I will to make a really powerful add on to an offer that I'm going to be sharing inside this space, and I'm not going to be sharing it, you won't get it. But also, to me that felt so expansive. It's like, it felt so good. And do my logic would tell me why would you do that? Why would you do that? What's the reason for this? You know, and I'm like, I don't need a reason. I just feel like, that's right, that just feels good. So even in my business, I allow myself to lead with that. And that's how I set prices. That's how I sometimes you know, tune into how and a way I want to deliver things like I'm really like tuned into that. That intuition like you Blair and it has changed my life. I mean, I'm in a different country. I ended up becoming a DM at age 29 have a luxury boutique hotel following My intuition around that I ended up following my intuition to become a coach, which was self helping, that led me down all sorts of tracks. And ultimately, here I am two years into my business. And intuition is so my, my guide.

Blair Kaplan Venables:

And I think I think what you're saying is like, it should be not just a guide, but like it's your compass. Like if a compass says North is a certain way, you don't argue with it. You're not like, No, it's not like the compass knows.

Theresa Lambert:

Yeah, but we do, don't we like, I think that's the thing and something that you just said that you blood is that like with this compass? And I love that I think one thing that's really important for your intuition to turn on and and I feel like that was it for me, was when I made like when I started to have a desire, and then I made definite decisions, right? Like when I started to be clear on what I desire, my vision, how I want to live my life, how I wanted to feel, like when I start to actually see and visualize and be like, Oh, no, I really desire this. Like, I really want this. That's when these intuitive hits come in. And that's also bringing us into referrals and connecting with the right people. That's also when my compass leads me down the path to take the actions that lead me to meet the people, or get the wisdom or information that I need at that given time in order for me to be able to take the next step.

Blair Kaplan Venables:

Yes. Oh my god. So good. Okay, so you have your master class, what's what is your intuition point that gene pointed you in the direction of working on besides your master class, like, what are you working on now?

Theresa Lambert:

My first solo podcast, oh, my first solo podcast, and I am so excited about it. And it was funny, because I've known I've had the hunch to do the solo podcast for a while. But it was kind of marinating and I wanted to sort of see what was coming through in terms of, you know, what did I want the space to feel like and be like? And so the podcast is one and then also, I had another hunch come in, related to the podcast, which is to gets custom music mixed for my intro and outro by an artist. And I reached out. He said, Yes. So that is happening. And I will talk about this more. But again, like I'm just hyping and teasing right now. Because I want to tell you the story. And it's like wholeness. And I will tell it to you. On the vendor podcast launches, which is coming up, I would just, yeah, I'm just I've got the graphics done. I've got my intro outro done. Now I just got to record and do these things. But literally, like just letting my, you know, intuition guide me. And the other thing recently, I picked up thinking Grow Rich again. And I read the book again, and I had read it, I must have been like in 2020, like early 2020. And honestly, I was reading it and I was like, Is this a different book? Yeah, because I wasn't ready for the information two years ago. But I was ready to receive it now. And boy did it Everland differently.

Blair Kaplan Venables:

Oh my gosh, I love that. I love that when you like rewatch something or re listen to something or read something at a different stage in your life. You take away to different lessons, different information. You know, maybe we should do an episode about our other podcasts and talk about your podcasts and my podcast. And I think this was a really great lesson in the business space. Teresa and I are both the type of entrepreneurs and innovators when we have an idea we just make it happen. That's how this podcast dissecting success happened. My podcast radical resilience happened because I wanted to create a safe space for people to share stories of overcoming life's greatest challenges. Teresa wanted to create another space to have the her conversations. And a lot of people think wow, podcast is such a big job and this and that and anything is possible guys, folks, friends, humans souls. Anyone out there? I think I think Teresa, I can't wait to like dive into your podcast and I'm excited. Do you know when it's going to come out?

Theresa Lambert:

Yeah, and you know one one thing that I'm going to add on something that you just said like anything is possible also what support do you need to make it happen and what are you willing to give in order to get that support like I you know, we have somebody supporting us and bluffview with our podcast. I am also going to to get their supports it with my other podcasts coming up with my solo podcasts because that feels good to me. You know, that feels good to me. And that's how I'm able to have the capacity to have two podcasts and do all the things that I do and to have it feel fun, which you and I have always said, we're going to do this podcast for as long as it's fun. And if it stops being fun, we don't do it anymore. And so the goal is to get it launched by Yeah, the middle of May, is coming up. Yes, I'm an app. And yeah, I'm just literally, yeah, I'm so excited. I am so excited to be a really, really cool pod. For anyone who aspires to be a six figure or multi six figure, online coach, entrepreneur,

Blair Kaplan Venables:

oof, and you know what you're talking about, because you've taken businesses from seven to eight figures.

Theresa Lambert:

It's just taken mine from zero to six figures. So

Blair Kaplan Venables:

I'm like, pretty good range. Now.

Theresa Lambert:

I'm taking it from six to seven figures. That's the path I'm on now. But I love

Blair Kaplan Venables:

it. We're all gonna get there. And Theresa, you're just so wise. I love learning from you and with you. But you know what the long and short of this podcast episode is follow your intuition. Pay attention to your gut. If it tells you to do something, explore that. If it's telling you not to do something, explore that. Figure out why don't go against the grain Your body knows your intuition knows. And you know what, if you start following your intuition, magical things will happen. So thank you for tuning in to another episode of dissecting success. Until next time, peace.

Theresa Lambert:

That's a wrap for another episode of dissecting success. enjoyed this episode. Make sure to subscribe to Blair Kaplan, Venables and Teresa Lambert's podcast dissecting success on the App Store.
